Insurance question - travel insurance covers "extras" booked after covid started

Booked flights/car hire some time ago before covid started. Have got annual travel insurance with bank account.
Got an email from them advising that since its a pre-booked trip we'd covered pretty much. I forgot about things like park tickets (its for disney) which we haven't purchased yet.
Not sure whether this would still be covered since its adding an extra or the insurer would say no because it wasn't booked at the same time before this all happened.
Still hoping we can go but don't want to end up with over £1000 worth of park tickets that I can't get a refund on.

For anything not bought yet, it's very unlikely to be covered.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

If the park is closed due to an outbreak while you are there then unlikely you'll find any cover for that eventuality. Covid isn't going to disappear entirely anytime soon.0

Yes I think you may be right there....Life__Goes__On said:For anything not bought yet, it's very unlikely to be covered.0 -
Was thinking more of the scenario that flight does not go ahead unless things change from as they are now.Thrugelmir said:If the park is closed due to an outbreak while you are there then unlikely you'll find any cover for that eventuality. Covid isn't going to disappear entirely anytime soon.
No problem with that. Airline will have to refund me and, as it was pre-booked, insurance will also. BUT if I book park tickets NOW then it might be a problem if I can't get there.0 -
For the airlines operating the flights is a commercially viable option. Whether people decide to travel is a decision for them.0

And I totally agree with you. I've got a big thing about this - you can't expect the airlines or insurers to pay out if you have an "opinion" that its not safe.Thrugelmir said:For the airlines operating the flights is a commercially viable option. Like I said, if I can get there I'm going. However, at the moment, USA won't let us in. Getting a refund for flights would be no problem from either airline or insurer.
This question relates to tickets I plan to buy now that would be bought AFTER the start of covid. I don't want to be in a position where I'm ok for flights refund but can't use the tickets and get a refund. Since I bought the tickets as an add-on after the event I dont think insurance would cover.0
