Hi guys please help (please no hate as seen some people not help on other posts so dont comment if have no useful help).

i started the papal account back in 2013 when i was 14 but used my mum names (first name same last name) but my email and my bank account. never had an issue as only used the account to purchase or sell items for cheap however no i have been selling items due to moving and have almost £3000 in my account but they have put a limitation on my account asking me to confirm details etc as gone over a limit i presume but i requested a name change so i could do this sent passport photo and bank statement but they declined so now im not sure what i can do. im really stressing as i need the money i just want them to understand but cant get hold of them on the phone and had no response on messenger center.

please tell me this has happened someone else and manged to fix it.

That's a sizable amount to have accumulated in the account. Given the current wider situation your account review is most likely in a backlog queue waiting to be assigned. Little you can do to speed matters up. Never a good idea to pretend to be someone else.

I think this threads needs moving - it's not coronavirus related.
The OP says he/she has also posted on the ebay board but only has this one thread.

On the subject of paypal limits, I received something similar about 6 months ago:

We need more information about you

To comply with regulations, we're required to collect and verify information about our customers. We must do this before you receive €2,500 (or currency equivalent) into your PayPal account (in total) within a year of you receiving your first payment.

As you have received €1,800 (or currency equivalent), we encourage you to provide this information now. In doing so, you'll still be able to use your PayPal account to send or withdraw money as normal.

Here's how to provide the information we need:

    1. Log in to your PayPal account.
    2. Click Notifications (bell icon) at the top right of the page.
    3. Follow the instructions and complete all the tasks.

Is what you got from paypal similar?
I just followed the instructions and had no problems.
I think your name change may have screwed things up.

What was the reason for requesting a name change?

What was the reason for requesting a name change?
Because she initially opened the account using her mother's name. Hardly surprising that PayPal are reticent to pay out a substantial balance.

The OP apparently set the paypal account up in her Mum's name.
