Hi can anyone offer any help please. I booked a holiday last November with JLP online and travel operator is TUI. We are due to travel on 5th August to Italy but wish to amend. I contacted JLP but was told that as the package has flights with Easyjet I cant amend as Easyjet haven't released flights for next year.JLP said only options is to forfit £6oo deposit and cancel or wait until tui cancel the holiday, which they might not as restrictions may be lifted by then. We have are shielding as child has asthma so going to Italy is not going to be an option. I wanted to amend for same dates, hotel etc for next year. Can anyone advise or have the same issue. Thanks

If flights haven't been released, you can't defer your holiday to 2021 because it currently doesn't exist.Although....have you checked on the TUI website if they're advertising the same holiday for 2021?You may want to factor in the fact that Easyjet have announced today that they are cutting their workforce by 30% and shrinking their fleet so the flights you have for this year may not exist next year.Your situation is not as straight forward as you are not a TUI customer. I'm not sure it still says it but on the TUI website a week or so ago, they referred all customers who booked with a 3rd party to that 3rd party. If you cancel now you'll lose your deposit (although there is someone posting a link to a BBC article who says that is not a done deal - here is what they say).Streaky_Bacon said:With regards to the future situation, I think that the main lesson from the last few weeks is how unpredictable things are and how quickly they can change.
With regards to deposits, I would just repeat that people should never assume that their deposit is 100% gone, just because the T&Cs say that the provider can keep it.
