E.ON energy bill

Hi all,
Hope someone can offer some advice as at this time I am unable to speak to anyone at E.ON.
I moved into my new flat in September last year. Using E.ON they quoted me £47 per month this is just electricity usage. I work full time and am away from home every other weekend so really not much going on in the main.
i continued to pay my £47 monthly. Today I sign up for the E.ON app and am being told I owe £579 and they want to change me £333.
Maybe I was paying slightly under and accept that but this would mean my monthly cost would be around £110 could this be right?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

During the time you have been in your flat (I presume new to you rather than new build) have you been providing Eon with monthly reads and also getting monthly invoices in your online account.

Others may say £47 is quite possible but I suggest that its near £80-90.
Read your meters today and do your own sums.
What tariff are you on ? What is your consumption ? (It's better to think in terms of Kwh than £ or DD)
What is your heating  - storage rads, panel heaters, underfloor, magic dust heaters ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Presumably you haven't been sending monthly readings, so they've used estimates?
How many kWh have you used since moving in?  Read the meter now, subtract the opening reading, multiply by the cost per kWh and add the daily charges plus VAT if not already included.  Then add up all the DD payments shown on your bank account to see where you stand.
You might find a Variable Direct Debit more suitable, provided you keep sending in those monthly readings.

First thing to check is that the current amount owed is based on an actual meter reading, not an estimate...
Take a look at the meter readings on your account and see if the latest reading is marked as an estimate or an actual reading...

As above, read your meter(s) - do you have a gas supply?  Then work out what the energy you used has cost by looking at the unit rates and standing charges on your bill.  If you do not have a bill, ask your energy supplier for one and have up to date meter readings to hand when you do so.

With electrical heating, and for 8 months covering the winter, £110 could well be correct. It should be a lot lower from now until Sept
