Just to be clear: I “must” do nothing, and I have not seen anyone rubbishing you.I have been praising NS&I for some weeks and been rubbished by posters like you, who must now eat humble pie-----Time to use the ignore function, methinks.0 -
I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t deposit more now. Other than that it must be at least £500.starwood said:I applied for a Income Bonds on 23rd May. Amount debited from by bank account on 26th. Still in pending status on NS&I as at 28th. Can I make a transfer via bank transfer now, or do I have to wait until pending transaction is completed.1 -
Dont know how to start a thread so will post here. PO savings rate changing email says:
Whilst you've been saving with us, your account has been earning an introductory bonus of 1.19% gross^. This bonus comes to an end on 01/01/1900.
Queen Victoria will not be amused.

Did you pay via bank transfer or debit card? Debit card is pretty fast.starwood said:I applied for a Income Bonds on 23rd May. Amount debited from by bank account on 26th. Reassuring to know that debit card deposits are pretty fast, but this simply makes it all the more puzzling that they include the previously-mentioned proviso in their terms that these might take a week and a half!Swipe said:

This is an interesting thread for me as I have often struggled to understand the online workings of the NS&I online platform. Clearly they do not operate on the faster payments system, and there is always in my experience a delay in lodgements however made appearing in your account. It is certainly not a realtime system and I have visions of clerical staff physically analysing the days receipts, creating a posting file and then updating the system probably over a 3 to 4 working day cycle. It's not the end of the world but in my mind it portrays a creaking out of date operating system which I just hope is more robust than some other well known computer platforms that have succumbed to hacker and ransomware attacks lately.Never thought I would be looking more and more at NS&I income bonds as a safe haven producing a competitive (by today's abysmal standards) return on surplus cash.0
