HELP! Ebay account stolen :(

Last week I started receiving odd messages in my Ebay account inbox in response to messages I had not sent.... I changed my password on the UK ebay site (https) and forwarded the messages to them. Last night someone listed three items which ebay spotted and removed. I know this is correct because the listing confirmations were sent to my account. Ebay also sent me an account restoration email from the ebay.co.uk site with my username in the title.
I tried to access my account but I can't as the password and security questions have been changed. Have emailed ebay twice via their original email and the ebay home page. Have also checked my paypal account and it seems to be fine but can't close it as it says I have account activity. The last item I bought on ebay was about four days ago and paid for via paypal. The passwords for the accounts are different.
Now I'm really worried that the hacker knows my address and bank account details. I've tried phoning ebay but their offices are only open from monday to friday and even them they say you can't close an account until 180 days has expired.
Is there anything else I should do to make sure things don't get worse? Just recovering from a house fire and also have crohns which is made worse by stress. Can these fraudsters use any of my details in any other way?

No Bank / Card Details are ever disclosed in Full on eBay or Paypal, so no need to worry about them.
I guess if the Genuine email from eBay to restore access has been used someone is accessing your emails before you.
Try & reset the password again & keep checking your inbox

I've got the same problem as well! My account was hacked and there were items on sale that i didn't list running up total costs of £35. I ended the listings and contacted ebay by email and changed my password. After a week, i still had not heard anything from ebay so i sent another email.
A few days ago, i tried to log into my ebay account with my new password but could not. Is it possible that the hacker managed to crack the code again?
And to add to the confusion, ebay sent me a survey email saying that they replied to my emails today and wanted me to do a survey for them but i did not get any replies from them at all!
Now i'm not sure what to do... Hoping to get some help from this listing.
Thanks!0 -

OP, go here to speak to a real live ebay person:

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Actually this thread is probably a good place to put the generic warning about watching for fake sellers at Christmas.
Many PCs are sold at Christmas and a number of people who have never used one before will be out there in January and there is usually a huge increase in th enumber of people falling for phishing mails or being otherwise lax with their security.
This does impact on the rest of us as some of those victims may have opened ebay accounts, which hackers then hack to cheat other buyers into buying stuff that does not arrive.
We all need to be extra vigilant at this time of year.
Going back to the OP. Fay's post is the one to read, get onto live help and get this sorted. Then go to the techie board and sort out your security. To lose your acocunt once is unfortunate to do it twice looks like carelessness. Then read the sticky thread about phishing mils here on this thread.
Only you can keep yourself safe and it could get much worse that just getting your ebay hacked. Depending on how deep the hack is and how secure the rest of your passwords are (and please say that all passwords are totally different!) they can sometimes get hold of more than just ebay and paypal details.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorted my problem out! Phew... The reason why i wasn't getting the ebay emails through was because the hacker had logged into my email and placed ebay.co.uk under my blocked senders list!
Learnt my lesson now! Ebay and emails have to have different passwords!:o
Thanks to all for your help. Hope Rosielx's problem has been sorted out too.0
