I've seen a tree, its about 6ft tall, it has spikey leaves like a palm tree or tropical tree and the trunk splits half way up into a beautiful, natural 'Y' shape. I desperately want one, any ideas please?
sorry not much help i know, but its a start

Where did you see it - in the wild, in a park, someone's garden?
Are you able to take a photo and either run it through google image search or post on here?
ETA - apologies if there's already a picture posted, my laptop blocks them,

Cordyline?
Looks similar to an indoor yucca.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Its in a private garden we walk past, but very secluded, ill try and get a photo.
The leaves look like a cordyline, forgot to say the Y shaped trunk is relatively smooth, as opposed to prickly looking like most palm trees (only way i can say is it isnt like the skin of a pineapple, like a lot of palm trees are)0 -
Tough one because the trunk could have split naturally, could have been forced to make it attractive or could have branched.Without seeing the pattern of the leaves it's difficult to make a guess. You could try knocking on the door and asking. I've done that with a couple of things. People tend to give wary responses wondering if you're casing the joint but can work. Maybe someone is outside working on the garden then people are only to inclined to talk about their wonderful plants

The ones they have in Torquay are Cordyline Australis. They eventually grow into a small tree and are hardy to about -5.
