Debt reappeared on credit file

I had a debt with Lowell that was defaulted over 6 years ago and was removed from my credit file recently. Today it has reappeared on my Clear Score (Equifax) account and rather than saying defaulted it says disputed.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Write to Lowell with an official written complaint. Send it by Royal Mail. Advise them that the account was automatically removed from your credit files, six years from the date of default. Request that the account is removed from your file again.
