Magazine back ordered- how long should I wait

I renewed a subscription to a magazine for my grandson but was a day late to have it run on smoothly.
worker suggested she would start it from last issue received so child would not miss anything. That was a month ago and paid by credit card for the year.
The subscription has started up again ok but the 2 back issues (verified by calling) have been ordered but not yet sent out by the distributor.
Customer services insists it is not their fault and no date as ‘catching up’ with short staffed cited. Would not consider dropping the back order and letting the subscription run the extra 2 weeks and basically say it’s not their fault.

So I’m wondering how long is reasonable to wait and what next step can I take after say another few weeks? Thanks.

two months under present covid is reasonable .

Clearly, the distributor is suffering from lack of staff during the lockdown. Probably best simply to be patient and not waste your time calling them in the current climate. If this is just 2 issues of a 52 issue subscription, it will hardly be a world shaking amount so I wouldn't worry too much about the "next step" at this stage.wolfehouse said:So I’m wondering how long is reasonable to wait and what next step can I take after say another few weeks?
