Is the UK - Portugal air bridge likely? Swapping Easyjet flights...

Swapped my easyjet flights for July, utilising the fact you can swap for free at the moment, to April next year. However, i'm now reading rumours of an 'air bridge' between Portugal and UK...should I swap back now whilst there would be still no fee? If I wait for any confirmation of an 'air bridge' to be confirmed, I will likely have to pay a lot of excess for the original flights...accommodation not an issue.

Do you feel you will go to go next April even if you go in July?

I think the complete opposite, there will be flights. How many I don't know, but there will people willing to go to places like Spain in July.ess0two said:No chance of any flights to holiday destinations before 1st Aug i reckon.

In my opinion, by the time of the 2nd review by mid-July countries will be added to a safe list, the pressure from airlines and other countries would be too immense to ignore.0

No, wouldn't go don't think. And we changed it for only a week in April, from two weeks in July.Life__Goes__On said:Do you feel you will go to go next April even if you go in July?
The Reuters article I read kind of implies, Portugal want the UK tourists; so surely they would want to maximise the school holidays ie from mid-end july is my thinking...bradders1983 said:In my opinion, by the time of the 2nd review by mid-July countries will be added to a safe list, the pressure from airlines and other countries would be too immense to ignore.

Have a look and see how many seats you can book for the flights you are thinking of swapping too.lyle1993 said:No, wouldn't go don't think. And we changed it for only a week in April, from two weeks in July.
I don't think EJ will be changing the "no fee" to swap anytime soon, as they want to encourage people to book.

Surely FCO / UK Gov advice will drive the situation??Official MR B fan club, dont go............................1

With airlines what will drive the situation will be economics, if enough people want to disregard the advice and they can legally fly, they will.

Airlines and other countries have no ability to apply pressure. Just plead. Has the crisis ended?bradders1983 said:In my opinion, by the time of the 2nd review by mid-July countries will be added to a safe list, the pressure from airlines and other countries would be too immense to ignore.

You tell me. Spain dropping all travel restrictions on 1st July and it was accepted they were a week or 2 behind us, so I see no reason by the 2nd review in mid-July for the "quarantine" rules to be amended then.Thrugelmir said:

And yes they can plead, I suppose it depends if the UK government want to help annihilate the aviation and airline industry.0
