Problem with Concealed Cistern

Hi All,

would be grateful if you could help me. I have had a bathroom newly fitted with a concealed cistern, fitted in a wooden cabinent, sometimes I am able to press the flush button and it flushes no problem, however on the odd occasion, it doesnt flush at all and I have to unscrew it and twist it round and then it works.

Any advice on what could be wrong and how to resolve it, would be appreciated.

Regards

Was the bathroom was done recently? if so then definitely get put right what should be working fine.

To answer your question, it could be a faulty syphon or syphon valve.

it seems to be a big problem with push buttons. ive heard of lots of cases just the same as yours.
think the push button, plastic fitting inside is just cheap chinese junk.
the general quality seems like rubbish.

  • UPDATE:

As you all are aware; I have a push button flush toilet with the cistern concealed in a cabinet. Recently when I push the Flush button, the button gets stuck and I have to unscrew the panel to push it out again.

I had the plumber's son over today (main plumber on holiday) and he said 'the part which pushes the air through the air tube is knackered' and it will be about month before he can get another replacement part in'. I asked him how am I supposed to flush the toilet in the interim, he told me to blow into the air tube (I am serious).

Is there anywhere, where I can buy the replacement part myself ( I don't have a name, but I can take a photo and e-mail it to anyone who can help me name it). Also, if I cant get a replacement part in the near future, is there a temporary fix......is there anything else I can do to stimulate air going through the air pipe to ensure the toilet flushes ?
    Please Help

    Hi

Is it any thing like this? http://www.bes.co.uk/

Type in pneu-compact into the search bar Click on the link. Scroll down to Derwent Macdee.
    Then on to Torbeck.

Sorry it's a bit convoluted getting there!
