Mortgage Holiday

I've currently got 5 months left of a 2 year fixed deal with Halifax. If I take a 3 month payment holiday due to COVID 19 will I have to pay the arrears in the final 2 months or will it be added to the overall outstanding balance? Would it also affect a remortgage in October?

I suggest you ask them.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Interest accrued will be added to the existing balance. Once the holiday period ends, repayments will be recalculated to repay the balance then owed over the remaining term of the mortgage. While the holiday has no impact on your credit file. You will have flagged to the lender that your finances aren't in the healthiest of states.0

Thanks both, I've tried contacting them but the waiting time is stupid. Will hold out until I really need to as I know the scheme has been extended.0
