Are you saying that your partner isn't comfortable going to work? if so is there any reasons for this? Other than the obvious because lots of people have continued to work since lockdown began.

Whether or not your partner should be paid depends on who decided she 'could not' work. If the employer, they should still pay her. If it was your partner's choice to protect the client, she should talk to her employer and see if they can reach an agreement. If it was your partner's choice to protect herself/someone else then that is her choice but she is not entitled* to any pay.

    * No-one is 'entitled' to be furloughed anyway, it is entirely at the discretion of the employer but normal contractual terms remain.
    It's not difficult!

So she just presumed she wasnt allowed to work. As her job involves taking him to a crafting class. Which was cancelled. But she could have worked at their home apparently.

So looks like she wont get anything. But thanks for the help folks.

why did she not talk to them and see what they wanted her to do?, but yes looks like in this case she won't be able to be furloughed as she chose not to work. Has she looked at UC?

Lockdown has been in place for 9 weeks now, didn't her employer wonder where she was? was contact even made? by your partner or the employer?
