I purchased holiday vouchers from National Holidays now in Administration. I used a Visa Debit card, I'm not sure why as I normally use my credit card. I understand that Chargeback can only be claimed once you have exhausted all avenues with the retailer. Also there is a 120 day period to claim. Do I have to wait for my claim as an unsecured creditor to be denied before I can register a claim with my Visa provider? Thank you  :)

I'm unclear,  National Express is not in administration as detailed on companies house website:-
There is also no hint of them being in administration in the news or on their website:-
Are you sure you mean National Express?

Irrespective to the above for companies which are in administration you can ask you bank to do a chargeback immediately.  In fact, I would suggest the sooner the better

    Edit,
Just thought you might mean Specialist Leisure Group Limited, who operated the National Holidays brand (they are a different company to National Express!).  If I'm right their website suggested that:-

'If you paid any part of your booking on debit card, please contact your card issuer to understand if you have any financial protection under the chargeback scheme.'

Ooops- sorry for my typo- it's National Holidays. Thank you for your answer- sorry that I caused you inconvenience. My bad- trying to do too many things at once! Stay Safe :-)

I would have a word with your card provider.
There could be a issue here, that they may need to seek advice on.
As you bought a voucher, you have in effect received what you paid for. ( I know it is not the holiday you bought the voucher for ) Often this means that a chargeback can not be actioned. But in some cases Visa/Mastercard make a decision that they will allow them for certain retails collapses.
    Life in the slow lane
  • If the company is in administration, I would suggest requesting the chargeback immediately with your card issuer.
You may encounter an issue with the chargeback due to purchasing vouchers but I would cross that bridge when you come to it.
