Unused Car .. elderly owners advice ..

My elderly Dad has been home since this all began with his car stuck on the drive way.. insurance runs out in July. They won't reduce the policy down but will let him cancel without a forfeit. He will (unfortunately!) want to drive again at some point. I would rather have some insurance  on the car rather than 'SKORN' it but can't find any polices for cars not driven..!!! (Many don't like his age ..83 so won't insure him at all) Any advice would be gratefully received Thank you

You can SORN the car, so not road tax or MOT, but still have the car insured.    It is probably easiest let the current policy run to expiration in July.  Then either just take out a policy and put a very low annual mileage (say, 1,000 miles per year) or specifically ask for "laid up cover".
