Morning all! Sunny here too, rinse and repeat...We were chatting yesterday about the back end of the garden. We've decided we need another skip. Whoever made the big rectangle thing filled it with sharp sand and stones, to a depth of at least 8" so all my riddling has produced is lot of sand, and enough stones to cover a 2m x 3m bit of ex-grass. It's left a lot of sand that we've cunningly used in various places and I estimate that the whole lot we've used equals roughly a quarter [if that] of what's to be got rid of. I'll have to see if anyone wants some sand and stones. And the concrete edging...Our days have fallen into a pattern where I get up early, have two cups of tea and wander about on the internet checking out anything that takes my fancy, then I start doing garden related work about twelve till six with rests in between. Oh plays COD till late with his friends, gets up when I'm on my second cup of tea and if he comes down dressed he means business, if it's PantsMan, he's going to play COD. We eat about eight or nine [sometimes earlier] , watch something we both follow or a film and that's the day gone. There's no stress, no rush to do stuff, no time constraints. We are very lucky.I was going to cut the grass today, but honestly, it looks a bit ropey because there hasn't been any rain except a desultory cough of it the other night. Everything bar the chillies are in the greenhouse now so that's done and I sowed all remaining pot seeds yesterday including some kale for the winter [it's purple but leaves like tuscan kale] so I'd better rig up some netting for that. Hopefully I'll get some comfrey plugs this week which will help with the feeding of plants and make a nice smelly plant feed. And I htink a splash in Nels Spa might be ont he cards later on..Ruby, you're not half getting about the place, wel done! Monna, can you write a book please? Camelot, your house is going to be featured ina magazine before long..when this is over, can you come round and do mine? Bella, sounds very stressful. Hugs. Hapy Birthday to your son TA, time flies! Hope the hospital goes OK Scarlet, and enjoy the garden center...I'd kill for a strolll around one....Nelski, it's rubbish isn't it? Hugs for you too. Nanny, hope you managed to do what you wanted yesterday and don't wake up with a bad head today....Hey all reading along, hope you're in tip-top shape on Tuesday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Hello all, it was a lovely hot day yesterday, but it's a bit more on the hazy side today, perhaps the cloud will burn off later.Yesterday I cleared the garden at the side at the house, but it needs digging over. All that's left there are 2 electric heaters waiting for the scrappy man and even they weren't there til yesterday when Mr Fix It decided to start to clear the rubbish from his work shed. I cut up an old carpet, well ripped it right down the length several times and bagged it up, then snapped a few rogue pieces of thin wood under my foot......... gosh that felt good ! The carpet and wood are now bagged and ready for binning. Our tip opens today, but it's by appointment only and I bet there's a queue a mile long.I have stripped the bed and the wm is on. I shall remake the bed later and use my cotton sheets again and from now on, as it feels much cooler at night with them on, I shall shelve the flannelette ones for the cold weather. This afternoon I hope to do some digging as the fence will give some shade if it gets as hot as yesterday, even I had to sit under the umbrella a few times to cool down. Tea tonight will be HM curry, from the freezer, with rice and naan bread.Monna I too love your reflections of bygone years.TA happy birthday to your baby boy !AOD I hope the dentist will be up and running very soon..... and all around the country.Bella I'm so sorry that you are having a difficult time with your Mum. Hugs to you both.RedRuby you were probably riding that bike in your sleep too ! Well done.taff loving "pants man" although I may have to squint at your posts from now on........ don't want to see that inadvertentlyRight off to hang out the washing.Take care all, stay safe ans keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Elevenses Chez Nous!Coffee, but no biscuits, except virtual ones and everyone is welcome round for those. They contain no calories, you knowYesterday was busy, trying to sieve the remains of the compost heap and tidying up at the back of the garden. People behind us had removed their leylandii , which to be fair they did keep trimmed to 12'. Well what a revelation, the sun reaches part of the garden it had not reached for many a year. The oak tree six feet into our garden provides some shade and soon we will have a little arbour there. Excellent for afternoon tea, with vitual cakes too. All welcome, especially after a day at the virtual spa.12

Bella, I'm sorry about your mother's health problems and the difficulties you're having with her.
AOD, I hope your prescription turns up today and the mouth start getting better.
We had the surreal experience of watching a funeral remotely this morning. It was Steve's best friend's mother's funeral - only two mourners present.
I then went to M&S to pick up some socks that Steve had ordered, I was cross that he hadn't paid for delivery but went anyway. It certainly seems as if a lot of people have forgotten about the virus, I was the only person wearing a mask. I even saw a middle aged couple food shopping with an old woman in a wheelchair!

Monna please do ramble, I am loving your ramblings.
Taff, PantsMan☺
I've hoovered, messed about and will cut the grass in a bit. It will be hard work if I leave it. Oh and I cleaned the bathroom AGAIN.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10 -
Hello from mehefinland
This afternoon was a local farmers funeral. Due to covid very few could attend so they lined the route to the crematorium with tractors. A lovely way to show respect. Mrs M and I stood by our gate as the cortege passed. Quite brought a lump to my throat.
Take care all
Mehefin
Forgot to say it was escorted by the 4 tractors from the farm, all driven by young men dressed in suits. a most incongruous sight

M.E count me in for afternoon tea tomorrow. 3 o'clock be ok ?Mehefin that tractor escort must have been spectacular. It's very strange for very few people to be able to attend a funeral, especially for families when it must be an awful experience.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Nanny Farming funerals are usually massive affairs here. Our local crem will allow 20 mourners which wouldn't even be the tip of the iceberg. The tractor tribute was lovely and they were parked for miles apparently.. The family intend to do something at a later date for Marie Curie8

Another one here loving MONNA'S daily thoughts
Love the idea of bedtime picnics too 😋
I don't need any encouragement at the mo though. Have just had spicy samosas, brought by my bezzie from the newly reopened Indian bakery 😁"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

All this talk about food has put pounds on my hips today. May also be because of the waffles we've just had delivered to our door by DD. mmmmmmmmm !! A banana and choc sauce one and a raspberry and chocolate one. I could get used to this pamperingNight, night all. nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
