Can the panel recommend a balance transfer card to get rid of my American Express balance?

You’ll need to check who accepts AMEX.
Also assuming the card is a credit card and not a charge card.0 -
I struggled with this last month.
only way i ended up doing it was to my nationwide cc then over to 28 months on virgin. so had to pay the fee twice but still way less interest overall.0 -

HSBC will accept BT from Amex. You just need to add a zero in front of the 15 digit card number.

I done this with an MBNA card, transferred a balance from AMEX to that. 1% fee over 26 months at 0%.1
