Used Car Warranty/Consumer Rights

Options
Hello,

Cut a long story short, we bought a used car in March from a dealer that has a problem with the A/C. I believe the issue was there when we bought the car. I contacted the dealer citing the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and asked that the vehicle be repaired. They have told me to claim on the warranty but as I'm sure is the case with most of these warranties, it doesn't seem like it is worth the paper it's written on and they will only cover A/C repairs up to 50%. There is also a limit on the labour charge.

What should I go back with to the dealer in response? The dealer has signed up to the AA Dealer Promise but I want to get a categorical 'no' from them first before I escalate to the AA.

Thank you.

Mark

That may require you to prove your claim  , but not sure how CR applies to used and initial timescale .

It gets 'stuck' on the driver's side, it either blows out cold and won't go hotter or blows out hot and won't go cooler, not pleasant in this weather as you can probably imagine!

Just drivers side? Is passenger side ok? Sounds like the A/C unit is fine and the problem is the vent adjustment.

Car is a 2011 Mk3 Ford Focus estate. A/C is dual zone climate control. When adjusting the passenger's side its fine, the air blows hotter/colder depending on what temperature you set it to. The driver's side doesn't adjust, the air stays at one temperature. I have done a self diagnosis using the control panel and it cones up with error 90 82 - circuit of right hand control actuator flap faulty.
