CCJ discovered from way back with maybe unusual circumstances

Hello all,
I live abroad, having left the UK in 2015. I may return one day. I ran a credit check and found a CCJ against my name, for around £350, issued in late 2017. I think it is for a parking fine, as I have not yet contacted the issuing court to find out the details. The reason I am pretty sure it must be that is because the day before emigrating, I went to a Guildford shopping center to purchase two suitcases. I parked in the multi-storey and when I went to the machine to pay for my parking, it was out of order. I just forgot about it and left. The following day I sold my car (yes same day as leaving, to webuyanycar for a pittance :-)) and left the country, having not returned since. So I certainly wasn't living at my old address in 2017 when court papers would have turned up. I would like to clean my credit record in case I return. I suppose in three and a half years, roughly, it will be wiped off my record anyway but one never knows when circumstances change and I may return before that time is up.
I was wondering what my best course of action is, given the fact I would like to settle this to the best outcome from outside the UK? I have read the newbie forums about setting aside with consent. Maybe this is a viable option if the issuing company agrees? But what are the chances of them agreeing really. Why do they care... I guess what is in it for them is someone years later offering to pay them a few hundred £. Maybe that is enough incentive.
Thanks in advance.

Why do they care... I guess what is in it for them is someone years later offering to pay them a few hundred £No, because setting aside 'with consent' is NOT offering them money. Which parking firm do you think was there? ParkingEye are more likely to agree to a set aside than most.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
