Depop, how does it work?

Hi all, my daughter is interested in selling some of her old clothing on Depop. I know from selling on Ebay some of the do's and don'ts of online selling but can you wonderful folk give me any pointers I can use to give her guidance, are there any rookie mistakes to look out for. Are returns the same as Ebay. Any postage problems to look out for.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Hi, there's quite a lot of 'insider' info out there if you Google 'guide to selling on Depop'.

    Returns/refunds seem to be the same as eBay, i.e. if SNAD.  Your shipping responsibilities also seem to be the same as on eBay (tracked and with proof of posting).  Their fees are something to bear in mind when selling on the platform as it looks like they can be quite hefty.  They don't charge for anything you list that doesn't sell, they make all their money from the actual final sale price.  Edited again as I may be confused about the postage.

    Fee Breakdown:

    - 10% Depop fee

    - PayPal transaction fee of 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK

    Those fees would be the same as eBay then. eBay also 10% of the final sale price, including postage charges, unless you have an offer.

    @jon81uk - ah, I didn't realise eBay charged 10%, I thought it was less!  I only ever buy, I don't sell.
    Seems very similar to eBay then, just with a funkier look that will appeal to younger folk (I'm an old git).

    Thinking about it, that actually makes Depop cheaper as there's no listing/relisting fees and all items are effectively BIN.  I don't think there's a maximum time for active listings either so they just stay up until sold.
