Hi Everyone
we have a Shark Duo battery hoover which has gone faulty and is 18 months old we paid £200 in the sale reduced from £280 and it does have a 5 year warranty if you register it but we forgot but surely it would be covered under the consumer rights act as it hasn’t last a reasonable length of time for a hoover of that price. The fault is the motor as the battery is only covered for 1 year on the warranty. I would expect it to last for at least 3 years but the fact Shark do a free 5 year warranty they must expect them to last 4-5 years.
Right thank you for reading this far my question is should i proceed down the consumer acts route with Curry’s to get it repaired / replaced??
thanks again for reading and any answers given
regards

Yes your CR route is via the vendor .As you are claiming under CR then the vendor may well ask you to prove your assertion via an independent report. Is the fault the motor or the battery ??. Battery may be classed as a consumable .0

You'll need to get in touch with Currys and see what they want you to do - they might require a report as JJ mentions
You have no rights against Shark themselves.0 -
Thanks Jj and Matt0
