Poor credit mortgage

hi I’ve been reading these answers for years but not sure I’m posting correctly , I hope I am. I’m really hoping for some advice about my partner and his credit score . To cut a long story short he spent the entirety of his late teens and early twenties borrowing whatever he could from all sorts of companies , his mental health was extremely poor , and he ignored all of them for years . We’ve been together 3 years now and he’s trying to sort them out , with his sole aim being that we can eventually get a mortgage. He contacted stepchange who advised an IVA , but I’m concerned it could make getting a mortgage much harder , the total of the debt is 7500, so not a huge amount but we are not high earners . I’d be so grateful for any advice !

You need to post on the DFW boards - they'll advise the best way to clear the debt and then to start saving for deposit and mortgage costs.1

First things first ignore the scores and ratings. If you’re high earners can you not make headway to clear the debts without an IVA?
What defines a “high earner” in your eyes?0 -
No I meant we’re not high earners , I’m a carer and he works in a warehouse 😂 Thankyou I’ll post on dfw0
