Hiya, im currently renting through a private landlord but I am looking to move out into a bigger place with my partner. I was just wondering what the letting agent can see on the credit check as I have pretty poor credit from missed payments and defaults and am I am worried im

I moved in Feb and they did a soft search. I believe that will show defaults and CCJ's. Maybe missed payments too. Are they asking for any character references? The letting agency did mine through a company called GoodLord, which asks for a reference from your manager and previous landlord. Maybe that would balance it out if your credit file isn't so good.1

They likely wont see the defaults, as they only see public information like CCJ's. However I believe they issue a "rating", which indicates ability to pay.1
