Vauxhall Meriva 'B' boot / tailgate won't open > trying to change glovebox fuse first
Hi. Interesting thread and hopefully somebody can help me. I've had the boot failure on my wife's Meriva and my Daughter's Meriva, I fixed both by exposing the wires in the corrugated pipe and soldering a new piece of wire in. My Daughters has not had an issue since but my Wife's failed again. Resoldered but still failing so replaced boot loom (£19 off ebay). Tested fine, closing boot and then opening, all good - until I lock the car! single lock or dead lock makes no difference, boot lock does not work. Strip boot and disconnect then reconnect cabling, tests OK until I lock the car. I have tested both old and new looms and they are the same and now the old loom, which I temporarily patched in, has the same symptoms? I do have an Opcom but cannot find any problems to fix., any ideas appreciated.
Firstly you need to start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's
Secondly what do you mean it doesn't work when you lock your car? Do you mean it doesn't lock and you can open it or it does lock but when you press the button on your fob the lock doesn't release on the boot and you have to open the boot from the inside?
Either way the very first thing you should do with a faulty/sticking lock is drown it in wd40/silicone spray , this will fix it most of the time
