I am the secretary of a small charity who currently banks with the HSBC (community account), the HSBC are less than helpful regarding most things and we are considering moving our accounts. We would like an account that provides true dual authorisation, rather than just multiple signatories and wondered if there were any recommendations or advice on which banks do this, before I have to start ringing around as their websites rarely go into very much detail.
Apart from the everyday banking, we have an amount of approximately £25,000 we would like to get better returns on than we are getting at the moment, currently 0.1%!! We can lock it away for a year at a time, and are again looking for any ideas n where would be best?
Many thanks.....

Unity Trust
Triodos
CAF
All three are specialist banks so while I'm not saying you won't find better on the high street, you'll find that all three understand the charity banking sector. Unity Trust definitely offers dual authorisation on internet banking, dual signatories on accounts and DDs. We pay cheques in via the Post Office, and can also withdraw cash there, possibly at two 'normal' bank branches by arrangement as well.
We also have some money on deposit at Triodos, but rates aren't great anywhere.Signature removed for peace of mind0
