Using a credit card to add funds to a Revolut account generally used to be treated as a normal purchase, but probably because of abuse this has been reported to be no longer the case - search for the fairly recent threads here about it.Evolution, not revolution0

Hi. Barclaycard did not used to charge fees when transfering money to Revolut but started to do so just before Xmas. Due to the Covid crisis it now says that it will not charge cash advance fees up until the 17th june, but they will return afterwards.
Not sure if money transfers to Revolut will count as cash advance and free of fees, but probably they will.
Just be aware that cash advances have higher interest rates than purchases.0 -

At the moment Revolut appear to have two different merchant accounts for top ups. They send some customers to one which Barclaycard will charge a fee and immediate interest for. And others to one which Barclaycard don't charge for.
Nobody on here can accurately advise which one Revolut will send you to. Best way to avoid the fee for sure is to top up with a debit card or bank transfer.
