I signed up to join Yorkshire Energy in May on their variable tarrif for electricity only. The rates i was quoted (I live in the North East of England) when I joined were....0.11552 per unit0.15771 daily standing charge.I've got a welcome email from Yorkshire Energy confiming these rates. My switch completed towards the end of May. I've just logged into my Yorkshire Energy Account and it confirms the tariff rates are the ones I signed up at..
Tariff Details
Tariff Name: Yorkshire Energy VariableStart Date: 27th May 2020ElectricityStanding Charge: 15.771 p/dayUnit Rate: 11.553 p/kWh-------------------------------However when I look at the PDF available here: https://yorkshire-energy.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004206411-Our-Live-Tariffs on the Yorkshire Energy website it quotes the variable rates for my region as...
25.512 daily standing charge
14.953 per unitThese much higher figures are also now being quoted on the Cheap Energy Club comparision website. So if there has been a price rise, why haven't I been informed about it? As other posted have said, customers are supposed to get 30 days notice of any price rises. Plus the online portal seems to confirm I'm still being charged the rates I signed up at. Also, I realise a variable tarriff means prices can change but those 2 sets of figures would represent approximately a 62% increase in the Standing charge and a 29% increase in the unit rate. Surely a single jump of that magnatude can-not be justified at a time where wholesale energy prices are lower than they've been in years?

The price changed on 11 May, so perhaps they're giving you a period of grace?0

Hi I am with Yorkshire Energy but on a fixed deal. Just wondering if any one is billed by them? My last bill was in March and before this were producing bills every month. I understand there have been working out of there offices during Covid-19.0

Canny_mal you are on the same YE Variable Tariff as me which closed 5th May so you must have initiated the switch to YE before this date though I believe the present YE Variable went live on 11th May. According to the closed YE Tariffs web page there are four closed YE Variable Tariffs and the one live tariff which you have quoted with the expensive tariff prices. YE live tariff page will only show the two tariffs at the moment, Green Flamborough and YE Energy Variable. All five tariffs have the same name and so most comparison sites will only recognise the live tariff even though that is not the tariff we are on. The one comparison site which has our tariff on is the Cheap Energy Club which does state when our tariff closed.
Kevin I was on the fixed Ladybird and Alpaca tariffs before switching to my present YE Variable Tariff. Every month I input my meter readings and approx. 15 minutes later my bill is ready to view and download. I haven't had a problem with billing whatsoever.

BEWARE of this FALSE TARIFF INFORMATION. I have switched (23 May 2020) from Avro to Yorkshire Energy (YE) and saved £25 per month. MSE's email I received today (11-6-20) says that I can save money switching to Avro. ?? FALSE. The info in the attached screenshot is INCORRECT, check out their website.
Avro rates and daily charges are; Gas 3.256p/Kw with daily charge of 28.785p. Elec 15.375p/Kw and daily charge of 23.79p
YE rates and daily charges are; Gas 2.138p/Kw with daily charge of 17.611p. Elec 11.918p/Kw and daily charge of 14.514p
Info based on the orkshire Energy Variable tariff (no exit costs)
I regularly check tariff rates hence I changed after 6 months to YE and my bill went from £125 to £100 per month.
Is someone telling porkies?? £££

I didn't realise a supplier could have multiple versions of a variable tariff. I assumed there would always just be one. It seems like I just squeezed in before the cheaper tariff was pulled. I made my application to switch on 6th May and the tariff was pulled on 10th May. (The Yorkshire Energy website lists dates the American way ie month first so 2020.5.10).Anyway, I'm going to keep checking my online account regularly to make sure it continues to quote the prices I signed up on.

The information you are showing Slimwallet is the present Live Tariff of YE Energy Variable based on the region of East England.
With the Tariff prices you quote that you are on will mean you are on the same Tariff as myself which closed 5th May.
I have logged into the Cheap Energy Club and the initial page it shows my Current Tariff details as YE Energy Variable to 10th May which is correct for the Tariff I'm on and would be the same for you.
On the CEC click on edit details and on then click on "Tell us the name of your current energy deal". At the bottom of this list of all YE Tariffs is the YE Energy Variable to 10/05/20, click on this and that should make it your Current Tariff with the correct Tariff prices you quote.
