PAYE and WTC

Hi all!
Wonder if anyone could possibly offer advice?
My husband works full time, I don’t work at all and haven’t got a full year now. My last job was a bank position, where I rooted literally 2 shifts for a local nursery school before leaving position.
I informed tax credits but never thought about Income tax & contacting tax office to say I don’t work. Never had a P60 as, again, I was only bank, used twice & dobt believe I paid tax.
Anyway, fast forward a year and last night I downloaded the HMRC app. When I signed in, it firstly displayed my PAYE details, saying I was employed by Norfolk County Council dnd had an estimated earnings for this year. I’ve filled out an online form to say I don’t work here.
In the meantime, my tax credits payments have gone up and I now get working tax credits, which I’ve never had before.
I’m now so worried that the confusion with a job had entitled me to WTC that I wouldn’t necessarily receive. I completed a tax credits calculator which said I wasn’t entitled.
I’m so confused?
Am I even making sense??
i wouldn’t panic, but we’re applying for a mortgage (first time buyers) so anything happening to my invite us do scary!!
Hubby works 37hrs a week & we receive DLA & disability element for our autistic son.
Thanks

Maybe putting the above in plain English would help people understand your post?

Was the nursery school job working for Norfolk County Council?

If so did you tell them you no longer wanted to work for them or could they still be thinking you might be offered more work?

I did comment straight away about spelling mistakes, or rather, predictive text on my phone going stir crazy
I think it’s relatively easy to see I meant I haven’t had a job for a whole year now.

The school were informed I no longer worked there. I had no contract. What information the county council hold, I’m unsure of, I assumed the school would have dealt with it and ensured I was taken off payroll.

Your tax credits will be based on your combined income with your husband. As long as you have informed them that you aren't working (presumably because you're looking after your son?) then it will be fine. However, if they still think you're working then you might have an issue. Log in to your online tax credits account and use the live chat to double check they have the correct information.

My ‘jobs and income’ details for tax credits reads-

    Jobs
    1
    Start Paid Work
    Hours
    0
    Pay
    0

I’ve always wondered why I couldn’t get rid of that 1 under jobs, this must be why. However, they know I don’t have a paid job & that I’m not earning.
I don’t know what qualifies us to WTC, but now I’m worried it’s because they thought we were both employed, even though they know I’m not (told them my leave date etc)
May just have to ride the wave and see what happens.
I just cannot find any information regarding WTC eligibility criteria that makes sense for us.

As you husband works full time that qualifies you as a couple.

Thank you! I keep reading about it being only if you claim the Severe disability element, but have just realised that’s for NEW claims.
    😊 Thank you

You read that wrong. A couple claiming tax credits with just the 1 person working full time, like your situation will qualify for tax credit, if they're on low income. The rules for this have never changed.
No new claims for tax credits can be made unless a person claims a severe disability premium in with another benefit.

You need to remember that although you said in your opening post 'I' get WTC your claim is a couple claim, so it is 'we' who get WTC.
