Great idea! Why didn't I think of that?!? :j
I'm just waiting for the next round of screening questions. But then again ... I hardly ever check their jobs nowadays anyway as I am thoroughly fed up with them anyway. Luckily they don't owe me any more money but if they would the would have picked the wrong person with me anyway. :mad:0 -
I have worked for GAP for almost 8 years and I have never been paid twice a month and can't even find the above quote on their website. As far as I am aware, their payments for the UK are processed on the 20th and payment into our banks should be around 4 days later as long as there are not any bank holidays in the way.
Its definietly in the XE Zone part of the site under FAQ's, I double checked to make sure I wasn't being dizzy.:p0 -
Hi just read your replies guys thanks for taking time out to help a newbie!!
I forgot that I wouldnt pay tax as even if my husband is working with 3 kids at home I wont be and the MS defo wont take me over the tax threshold so I guess I am just keeping records to prove to HMRC that I havent made money over the tax threshold?
Also thanks for the tips that I can charge other things to the business but (and sorry I sound really dumb here) would that really make any difference to me if I'm not going to hit the tax threshold anyway?0 -
can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to look for jobs on gap, the click boxsystem is doing my head in!if i had known then what i know now0

Anyway GAP and I parted company in January of this year after I had highlighted that they had underpaid me by over £100, which is still owing. During my time with them I did many jobs including audit work and always got paid for them all (apart from the missing money!). Below is an example of an email I sent to them when I had a similar problem as yours and I hope that it might help you to get paid.
As I was mystery shopping this establishment to assess the customer services that members of the public receive I feel that it is very unfair that I should be penalised for highlighting the failings of this particular employee.

Thank you for that. This is exacly the point I shall be making to them!
The shop assistant failed in their task to cross promote certain aspects of their sales and yet I am being penalised for highlighting this.0 -

So it isI must admit though, I haven't been on that part of the site for quite some time, not since they published a story about me and didn't ask my permission  .
I see the payment page hasn't been updated since 2004 but even then I wasn't paid twice a month, so I don't know what they are on about."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -
You appear to have learnt a hard lesson - honesty is not required with GAP reports; just a lot of clicks in the right boxes. The branches must know this too that they only have to lie and they can refuse a report.
The most annoying thing about GAP is that they'll still use your reports, they just won't pay you for it....
This is why I only do the GAP jobs that are genuinely convenient for me to do, so if they shouldn't pay me for any reason I won't be out of pocket.
I agree, my Dh has been saying this since I started. I have to say that since they refused to pay me for a Pizza shop I've not done any assignments. I've looked but will only do ones that are convenient for me too as Timmne says. They were a good starting point for me, but I have enough to do now without them.

Can somebody inform on the printing, broadband, how much % of computer costs can be claimed? The only reason I ask is I know a self-employed computer person, and he repeatedly purchases new computers and simply off-sets it from his tax so is effectively getting it free.
Did you read my OP? If so, and you still have questions, please ask and I'll get back to you asap!0 -
with abai when it says you have 3 days to do the visit is that always the case?
so on a friday what would my cut off day be do they include the day you accept the visit.0 -
Gap are poor, it's pretty amazing that they are evaluating the customer service of other organisations, yet their's is pretty ghastly.
Lead by example and all that? I wouldnt want anything to do with them if I was a customer, and tbh, even though I had my account reactivated, I would rather shop with other organisations, as someone mentioned. A great starting point but as you expand your skills and stuff, they dont pay enough.0
