A&L 5.35% online saver vs. INGdirect ?

Hi. May seem a silly question, but...

I currently have £11k (off MBNA) in an ING 5% online saver account, and was wondering if its worth opening up one of these Alliance & Leicester 5.35% online saver accounts as I only have this £11k until 1/3/2005....

I pay basic rate tax.

Dumb question or not ?

With ING I get interest monthly, with the A&L it's annually.

Pros / Cons anyone advice me please ASAP ?

Thanks, RochdaleGuy

Look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves is what i say. £12 is better off in your pocket than someone elses.

Stay away from A&L,they always take longer than other societies to clear cheques being paid in.I have paid cheques into A&L,halifax and Nationwide within 10 mins of each other on the same day and A&L is always 1 or 2 days later crediting the money to the A/C,apart from the time they took 10 days as to quote"They had lost the keys to the ATM machine and could not open it.
Any extra interest is soon eaten up by their delays.

With the Online Saver Account cash is added and removed via the BACS system, from a linked account. They quote 4 days for transfers which is similar to IF, though if ING Direct request money from IF it only takes 3 days.

That's what I always say...it's only twelve quid but it's your twelve quid.
