Littlewoods missed payment

So I have a Littlewoods account which I currently have a balance of £0 on. I got an email from Littlewoods saying that the minimum payment of £8 needed to paid, given that I didn't want this to hinder my credit file I made the payment and am now +£8 credit on my account. However, a missed payment has gone on to my credit file and has affected my score but there was nothing to pay on my account. Any advice on what to do and how to get this 'missed payment" removed from my credit file?

Find out why the payment needed to be made and therefore if the marker is valid.

Are you sure you don't have two littlewoods accounts? Or an account with Very (same group)?

You could be up to date on one and behind on another, if some confusion has led to you checking/paying the wrong account. If that's the case, you'd have to ask nicely for them to remove the marker. Technically in the above situation it'd be factually correct, but given the circumstances they may remove it as a goodwill gesture.

If you've only got one account, you'll have to phone/write to them to find out more. If you don't get anywhere, put a complaint in and then they'll have to investigate it (and if they don't within 8 weeks, or you're not happy with their final response, you can go to the Financial Ombudsman (for free)).
