Phone call from Etihad to say flight NOT cancelled

My daughter and I have flights booked with Etihad on the 8th July to Singapore with a return from Bali 2 weeks later. I have just received a call from Etihad confirming that the flight is going ahead!!  But if we chose not to travel we could rearrange or take a credit. At this moment Singapore is not accepting visitors. I asked that we be refunded if that was still the case as we wouldn’t be allowed into the country and we wouldn’t be allowed to even board the flight.  Apparently this would not be possible as the flight is still operating!!! Thankfully we have travel insurance (although I have yet to double check we are covered).  Has anyone else received a similar phone call? I should have asked how many Singapore citizens are booked on that flight?  Is this just Etihad’s underhand way of not offering refunds? I’m guessing my options are either to wait till nearer the time to see if they do cancel the flight or hope that the uk travel ban and/or Singapore Ban is still in place so we can claim on our travel insurance?  Any opinions/advice would be appreciated. Thank you

If the flight is running. Then the airline still has costs to cover. Pilots have to maintain their flying hours. Or they get grounded.
  • Thanks. I understand that. I was asking for opinions/advice on my options

Your options are rearrange, take a credit, travel if you can or hope your travel insurance covers you if you cannot travel.

Given how quickly things are changing 8th July is to far in the future to guess what the situation will be. Spain has just announced tourists can travel there from July.
