Why do you want to know this?

Of all the questions usually asked about credit cards, this must be the strangest I've heard.

    Knowledge......
I think it is handy to know.
What if I am deaf, so phoning is not possible.
What if English is not 1st language, so there is communication barrier.
If I can open a credit card online, pay it off online without interaction with anyone, shouldn't closing the same, available to do it online???

If your deaf then you can use the text phone service.

If English isn’t your first language then how did you apply for the card as you should understand all the terms and conditions that go with your credit card?

It’s also probably down to extra security to make sure it’s you who really wants to close the account.

Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

I find it a pain credit card companies that are happy to open accounts online, won't let you close the same account online.

I've recently had this exact argument with Lloyds. The only choice they gave was to phone them (I gave up after 20 mins waiting for them to answer) or going into a Lloyds branch.
