No previous address, how do I up credit?

Hi everyone! My partner has literally no credit, due to all of his adult life either sofa surfing, living with exs or suffering with homelessness. This means he has no previous address history. Due to this, his credit score is none existent! He has now been in accommodation for around 6 months and is on the electoral register. Can anyone please give advice on how to up his credit score? He can’t apply for credit cards, due to not having the previous address history! I can’t think of any other ways to up it apart from a credit card. Also trying to buy things with Klarna where you can pay in 3 instalments, he can’t even qualify for that. He is in full time work as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

You don't 'up' a credit score. You build credit history.
Any type of credit, mobile account, even a bank account with an OD can help. Basically, he needs to start small and build up history where he can. It won't be quick but now he's on the ER, he's on the right road.2 -
A phone sim might be a place to start.
You will need 1 that's easy to get with no history.0
