Faulty lawn grower?

I bought some top branded lawn grower (seed, feed and soil enriched) from Homebase at a pretty hefty £20. Followed the instructions to the letter, watered the lawn twice a day with a sprinkler and I cannot see one new bit of grass after 3 weeks, especially in patchy areas. Even prepared the lawn before hand (scarifier and aerated)
Do I have a case to ask for money back or at least another box. I guess it's a bit hard to prove that the grass didn't grow or it wasn't your fault?

Its like the "canada green" and similar stuff advertised this time of year as being able to grow a lush turf no matter what. Its just grass seed, the cheapest will do. In the good dry weather you need to water twice a day. Any seed should have germinated the way you described.0

If it hasn't been eaten by the birds thinking you have put out a lovely feast for them at breeding time it may be laying low because of the recent heat. Many grasses go dormant and don't grow during hot weather. Planting cool-season grass seed may result in poor germination or seed death.I've tried sowing grass seed out of season and had similar problem with it not germinating. It started to come up in autumn and a bit more in spring.September is the recommended time.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
