Refund on lawn grower

I bought some top branded lawn grower (seed, feed and soil enriched) from Homebase at a pretty hefty £20. Followed the instructions to the letter, watered the lawn twice a day with a sprinkler and I cannot see one new bit of grass after 3 weeks, especially in patchy areas. Even prepared the lawn before hand (scarifier and aerated)
Do I have a case to ask for money back or at least another box. I guess it's a bit hard to prove that the grass didn't grow or it wasn't your fault?

You can try but there may be a lot of reasons, conditions need to be right, why did the grass fail in that area in the first place? But anyway it can take longer than 3 weeks for seed to germinate.

Stupid question perhaps but did you cover it over with something to stop birds eating the seed?

Have you contacted the manufacturer or Homebase?  It's been a hungry time for birds and especially if you are in an area of new development the soil is probably rubbish.  You could try asking in the Home & Garden forum for some tips.  It's stretching it a bit to be concerning about consumer eights for a bit of lawn seed - especially in the current circumstances.
