Tonik switchover
Options
I know allowances must be made for the lockdown, but I switched to Tonik via the Cheap Energy Club and they only transferred my electricity and not gas from my former supplier, despite it being a dual fuel tariff. What's worse is that they charged me for gas despite not supplying it to me, and of course I have also been charged by my former supplier. Tonik say that the gas switchover was cancelled after they had charged me, but my old supplier says they were only ever contacted about switching over the gas and it wasn't cancelled their end. I'd rather not stay with Tonik, after this mess up - and having read many bad reviews about their billing problems - but they said there would be early departure charges if I left- despite the circumstances listed here. I have been with them less than a month. No compensation offered.

good luck with tonik. so glad i moved in january.
would suggest either refering to energy ombudsman or bite the bullet and pay what would only now be £30 to switch as you only have electric with them. have you gone back to tonik to ask them for compo or anything.
tonik are a joke at the moment so good luck0 -

You are dealing with a totally dysfunctional company who are doing great harm to the reputation of the energy sector in general. It is difficult to offer any constructive advice apart from be patient, don't get angry and thereby put your own health at risk (not being patronising, speaking from own experience). One lesson I believe is relevant, the persistent posting (every 24 hours) on Trustpilot will eventually get more attention than the prescribed means of communication either by telephone or email. To set your stall out in the first instance though, you may consider sending a registered letter to the directors at the company's RO address, providing a full detailed explanation of what the problem is and what they need to do to fix it. You should have a plan of what you want to happen which may be to get you properly registered as a dual fuel customer before you switch.Life is too short to have to deal with organisations like this!! OFGEM should be ashamed!0
