Function Room won’t refund my money

Hello, I have hired a room at a popular bar in Manchester City centre for my husbands surprise 30th. This is due to Go ahead on the 30th May 2020. I have been told the party can not go ahead due to coronavirus but they will not offer me a refund only a credit note or change of date. There is no point on changing the date of a surprise birthday party and I could really do with the money back due to both me and my husband being out of work! can any one help me

So which one was it, via a bank transfer, or debit card? They are two different methods. If it was via bank transfer you might have to take legal action to get your money back, if it was via a Visa or MasterCard Debit card you may be able to go down the chargeback route.

sorry sorry it was bank transfer. I have spoke to my bank about raising a dispute and they said depending what their terms and conditions say then it’s if I can get a refund

Do you have a copy of the T&Cs from when you booked? They might have chanced them since then but you will be on the old ones.
