Do I go through my travel agent or direct to the airline for my refund?

I booked a multi contract package holiday through teletext and should have left on the 3rd April - all the cancellations/credit note/refund rubbish issues and I've put in a request to my credit card company etc.  I have recently received emails direct from easyjet (outbound) and Tui (return) about our requested refunds being processed.  These must have been initiated by teletext as I've not contacted the airlines at all just the agent.  Now we've had our credit note from teletext for just the hotel and transfers as they are saying the airlines are not issuing redunds. I obviously can't get through to teletext but should I be replying to the airlines directly and leaving teletext out of this or will that invalidate my Atol or insurance.

Did you book the flight the hotel at the same time with teletext?  Was it just one payment (how did it read on your statement)

  • It was all one booking with a single payment.  Our Atol is for a package holiday with teletext.

Then teletext should have given you a full cash refund within 14 days
I would not bother with any requested from EJ or TUI,   those refunds from them should be paid to teletext

When you contacted your credit card company did you ask, or did they tell you if it was a Chargeback or Section 75

  • Teletext have refused a refund.  Only offered a partial credit note for accommodation and transfer coach and I can't get a cash refund for that until 1st August.  They have been awful.  Credit card looking into charge back but said it could take 60 days from the beginning of April.  I'm just really confused as I have emails from Tui and easyjet saying my cash refund is there if I ask for it......???

I would just wait for your credit card, as that way it will be a  full refund.
Under the CCA1974 the credit card company is jointly liable, so if teletext don't refund you the CCC has too.
If you take refunds elsewhere this could make it harder and  more complicated to get the full refund.
