Hi - in desperate need for help. A few weeks before the corona virus crisis, my bank of 10 years abruptly closed my business account giving very little reason - I think they suspect something unusual going on - which could not be further from the truth. We create programs and opportunities for developing countries (particularly Africa) to learn to create income from farming fruit and vegetables and the virus has obviously halted our business. I desperately need to apply for a bounce-back loan from the bank - for which we are absolutely eligible - but am unable to get a new bank account. Our high st bank has obviously placed some sort of black mark against our account so we are being refused from other mainstream banks and can only get an internet bank account who doesn’t offer the loan. How on earth do I right this wrong to be able to apply for the loan we desperately need? Any advice would be so appreciated. Many thanks

High St Banks are know to randomly close accounts for no reason, I have had a few closed my self. Mainly due to scammers trying to use my business as an in between to scam innocent people. I have never had a mark on my account, they only way they leave marks on you or your business (usually known as CIFAS) are when they have clear evidence you were using your account for fraudulent purposes. I am not saying you are using your account for this purpose, but its highly unlikely they would give you a CIFAS for no reason. I would check your credit file to see what CIFAS have been put in your name, if it is incorrect then you should dispute it.If you were using your account for illegal purposes, then you have rightfully been given the CIFAS, and will struggle to open any account.0
