Thanks @Robin9. I do now realise the error of my ways and I can easily quantify the monetary value of that error. The deemed rates they've given me are 29.34p/kwh and 63.79p standing charge.

Thanks @Talldave, I wasn't after sympathy at all, courtesy maybe! I do believe you are right though; nPower are a shower of !!!!!! and I'll sleep better without them in my life!

Where are they showing you the rates are 29p and 63p?  I’ve quickly scanned various NPower tariffs and seeing nothing like those numbers, particularly the SC.

There is something wrong with those figures - NPower are expensive in my region of S.Wales - but their standard variable tariff is coming up as 18.076p/kwh and 24.02p/day standing charge.

Those rates look a lot like their deemed business tariff...

Can you confirm if this is a commercial or residential premise as so far everyone has assumed the latter.

I know no-one is reading this thread any more but I would love to be able to go back to nPower but can't; e-on bought them and dragged them down to their level.  NPower had the best online account service I have ever seen and, a year after having to switch away from them purely due to price, I still miss it.  Why the heck e-on have failed to take advantage of NP's infinitely superior online and telephone service is beyond me.  Sure, I encountered dreadful service on occasion but, in the main, they left e-on standing on all fronts, IMO.
