good afternoon
im hoping maybe someone else will have had slimier issues
i want to start using Hermes to deliver my parcels , its going to be a life saver at Christmas as  i was stuck at the post office for up to an hour at a time.
the problem is that im buying my postage online as normal, but what ever way i print it out the bar-code wont scan , iv tried 3 separate prints
the only thing i can think of is that i use a thermal printer?

    What scan?
Is this a full address label or a QR barcode to scan in store?

I’m still not clear on whether this is the full label or just the QR barcode that allows you to print the label in store.

If the former, try improving the print quality in your print settings or print the label in store. If the latter you don’t need to print it, you can display it on your phone (assuming you have a smartphone) and it should scan.
  • My printer some times does a fuzzy bar code print - the assistant in store just types in the numerical code to the scanner instead

  • this is whats failing to scan

That barcodes fine but unless Hermes run a different set up,its not a QR barcode.
Thats a 2D barcode with limited data

Edit: Seems Hermes use the standard QR code like on the watch face

    Hermes trials in-store printing
  • thank you custardy,

i have sent some parcels using the machine at the shop and come to think of it i seem to recall that there was a qr barcode on those labels this is the complete label im supposed to print  with redacted addresses

That's a good question, but it does say next to the label to take it to a ParcelShop.

Where / with what machine are you/they trying to scan it?

    hi spoonie turtle .

looks like an official  hand held scanning machine as far a i can see
the parcel shop scans it , its not a smartphone

the shop assistant said he had not had issues before, which is why i was wandering if it was because i was using a thermal printer
