Furloughing agency workers

Hi,

I have recently asked my agency if I am able to be furloughed, they said that they cannot furlough me as they would need to furlough ALL of their temporary workers, is this right? I cannot find anything online regarding this specific matter!

Thank you in advance for any help!

They can furlough as many as they want if they meet the criteria. The problem is that it still costs agencies so most are unable to as have no money coming in.
  • My agency identified a way of passing the buck for furlough ING me, whilst making out they were doing me a huge favour. Since they decided to outsource my furlough to an external paying processing Co, I've had nothing but lies, moving of goal posts and still no funds, 4 weeks after agreeing to become an employee of this Mickey Mouse outfit. It seems you CAN be eligible as an agency worker but you try getting the money. Other ppl I know, however, under umbrella companies, have been receiving their pay.

They must be one of the very few lucky ones then. Going by a lot of posts on here most umbrella companies are also not furloughing employees.

Look at claiming Universal Credit. Savings/capital of more than £16,000 will exclude you from claiming. Use a benefits calculator to check entitlement.
A claim for UC will end any tax credits you may already be claiming. Council tax reduction can be claimed from your local council.

To be fair we are only hearing from ones that are not, there are probably a lot more that have been furloughed. so have had no need to look for help. It just seems a lot to us but probably a small minority to who use umbrella companies.

That’s true most of us are sadly here as we are being screwed over(apart from those wonderful people who are simply here to help of course).
