American Express interest charge

Help! Help! Help!
So I thought I was quite good with credit cards and interest rates and Cashback etc, turns out I’m probably not. Long story short I took out an American Express Cashback card in February as I was due to make several large payments and wanted to earn some Cashback. I researched etc and applied through moneysavingexpert.com. Now I’m SURE it was 0% on purchases but I’ve just received a interest charge on my account. I called American Express and they have informed me that I don’t have a 0% credit card which is now slightly scaring me. As I recently moved house, paperwork is all over and if I’m honest I probably haven’t saved any of my documents from when the account was first opened. Is there any way of finding out of moneysavingexpert.com was advertising an American Express card with 0% so as I have something to back me up???
Any help or advice would be greatly received

It's very unlikely you were given a 0% deal on acceptance, even if you applied through a link with it as the headline rate.

I don't think you were given any 0% on purchases on your amex card as they don't have any offers within there current range, checking both Platinum cards on there website none of these have 0% offerings on them.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

As far as I'm aware Amex tends to offer additional 'cashback' for the first few months on new card accounts instead of an interest-free period.

You can see a limited historical view of Internet pages at https://web.archive.org/This might be the page you should look at.

Amex is not mentioned on it.  However MBNA is, with a 26 month 0% deal.  Have you, perhaps, conflated the two?

If I were you I'd test out a few eligibility checkers and try to get a 0% balance or money transfer card elsewhere.

According to Which? balance transfers from Amex may be difficult, so a card offering a 0% money transfer to you bank account might the best option.

More recently there was a Rewards Credit Card with a Purchase Offer on. I've never seen it on the Platinum Cashback range though.

I agree that the OP was mistaken. Best finding a Balance Transfer credit card, but make sure before you apply that they accept transfers from American Express (several do not). At least one of Tesco Bank and Halifax was able to accept such a transfer a few years ago, if that helps at all, but do ring them and check first.

I said cashback cards. Not Costco branded cards.

If you intended to refer to the Platinum Cashback range of cards then you should have at least capitalised the word 'Cashback'.

The Costco card was a cashback card.
