We  were due to fly to Canada on a oackage holiday on 19th May, our travel agent has not been in touch about our trip  and we are only getting standard reponses when we call or send an e mail. Obviously we knew it was cancelled and this was confimred when  Brritish Airways infromed us the flights were cancelled. Is there anything I can do toi get a response from the Travel Agent ( Barrhead Ttravel), their standard reply just says if our travel date has passed we are still covered for a full refund.

  • How long do you wait to refer to ABTA, We have heard nothing from our travel agaent other than an automatic email response and theyre not taking calls.  Our holidsay date has passed - getting more worried to say the least. How long should we wait to refer this to ABTA?

Sorry don't know much about the  complaint mechanism, hopefully other will advise,  I  just try and get the money returned ASAP,

If you are after your money back
Raise a "Chargeback" against the transaction stating non-supply of service, (using proof of cancellation) also state that you have rejected any vouchers that you are entitled to do under English law (even if you not been offered any).

Normally with a Chargeback the money is returned once it’s processed

Barrhead can dispute the Chargeback, but it must supply evidence to the card company.

If Barrhead is successful, then the Chargeback is reversed and the money taken back  from your account

If that fails then it's a Section 75 on the credit card.
