The company, without admission of liability, had replaced all the parking meters with modern solar powered machines and dispensed with the premium rate number helpline.
That's going to eventually inflict even greater misery. Llangrannog Beach has now removed its solar powered PDT in favour of a mains powered one because of the unreliability of solar power. Wait till winter arrives!

Can I just say that there's nothing wrong with solar powers, as long as it's installed in suitable locations where you can maximise the generation from the panels?

Which won't maximise the generation of parking charges. 😊

And a little birdie in Llangrannog told me that *someone* from OPS was installing those machines and CCTV today and the Police were called.  Apparently there was talk of a worrying lack of social distancing as more than one person 'working for' OPS wandered in and out of the pub, and a suspicion that one of them was from England.   OPS, of course, are from the Worthing area in West Sussex.

Travelling a significant distance into Wales is not permitted.

Someone claimed the Welsh Government had sanctioned them to be there...hmmm...

Fines up to £2,000 in Wales this weekend for ignoring travel bans/social distancing rules. Ouch!
