Money Bank Transfer From Canada To UK

Sorry if this is the wrong place?
My brother and SIL in Canada sent a transfer of £500 to me in the UK Santander Wednesday 13th. So far there is no sign of it arriving in my bank account, I gave IBAN, BIC/SWIFT etc and the Canadian bank said it went through. SIL mentioned to me it should take 3-4 days so I discontinued the Wednesday because of the time difference. But so far nothing has arrived and I am beginning to panic. I did phone Santander but they said there was no sign of it on their side and money can be stopped for checks along the way. And the Canadian bank as the sending bank should be able to track where it is at the moment with the SWIFT code. Now my brother and SIL are in their 70s and have to go to the bank and I suggest perhaps checking but got the "Oh it will turn up." They don't do online banking.
Can anyone tell me does it take a long time to transfer money from one bank to another internationally personal bank account? I have googled and all I can find is from 2014 and 1 - 2 days?
Thank you for any help.

International payments can take up to 14 working days. In the mean time ask your brother to request a Swift report from his bank. Once you've received a copy, you can give it to your bank to locate the payment.0

It should take around 3-4 working days. As suggested ask your brother to ask his bank for Swift report and go from there.1

I have emailed my brother and asked if he can nip into the bank and using the Swift find out where the money is?

maybe it would be easier for your brother to use Transferwise. Though I dont have any experience of using it personally.Update - sorry just seen your brother is in his 70s and doesnt do online banking.1
