Can I have a mis sold loan default removed?

Hi everyone
My partner recently applied for car finance but was rejected, on further inspection of her credit report it appears there was a "satisfied" default notice, however this account has since been confirmed as mis sold by the loan company and she received her refund however its still lingering on her file.
Am I right that I can contact the loan company and request that they remove the default from the file since it should never have been sold in the first place?
thanks for your help

That should have been done as part of her redress from the loan company, but you must ask for it in the complaint, its not always automatic. Its a bit late now, but worth a shot, escalate to the ICO if unsuccessful.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It seems to have been done For some reference companies and not others, For example TransUnion show it as a default but Equifax and Experian don’t0
