My road tax will not be paid from this non existant debit card
Just curious, I have recieved my annual car road tax reminder payment that the will deduct it on the 4th June from a HSBC account/debit card that was closed (switched) to NatWest 6 months ago.
Am I correct in thinking that athough DVLA have used a now non existant account debit card number, NatWest (from the swich) will have details of this automatic once a year payment and proceed to pay it .
Thanks

More likely is that the DD will be rejected, and your VED will be unpaid.0

Didn't NatWest provide you with a list of the DDs that would automatically be transferred over to them from HSBC? Check your paperwork.

Is it a direct debit or a debit card payment?
If you use the account switching service then direct debits are transferred to the new bank automatically. Recurring debit card payments however are not, so if it's a debit card they are going to try taking the payment from then it will fail and your car will be untaxed.0 -
Can you actually pay this by recurring debit card payment ?

I think you're following the OPs example in being confused between DD and debit card.alankearn said:
