Can I return?

Hi I purchased a Phillips Lumea Prestige IPL Hair Removal device from Boots today for £475 to find that on their website it’s advertised for £325. When I got home I registered the product with Phillips for the 2 year guarantee like the assistant advised me to. The product hasn’t been used but has been registered. I’m wondering whether I’m within my rights to return? Obviously my plan would be to return the product in store and then order one off their website and save £150. Obviously it would be straight forward if I hadn’t of registered it but does anyone know what my rights are and where I stand with this?
Thanks

You have no rights to return an item purchased in-store (unless it's faulty etc), you're bound by Boots' returns policy.

As above, what's their store returns policy? It may or may not allow you to return it. If it's been opened, it may be considered a hygiene product that can't be returned for a change-of-mind reason.1

Provided that it's totally unused then there doesn't appear to be anything in their returns policy that would prevent a return:If you change your mind about an unused item you’ve bought in the last 35 days, simply return it in its packaging. We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund if goods are not returned in a saleable condition or are damaged. If the item was faulty or damaged when delivered or collected from store, an exchange or refund will be offered.but before going in, it might be worth giving the store a call and asking if they would be willing to do a price match with their online price.1

Not returning the product bought in the store, to the store. A better question would be: where's the honesty? If you're confident it's not dishonest, would you suggest OP declares what they've done when returning to the store, or were you suggesting they keep quiet?
The reason it might backfire (and as I said, it's a slim chance) is that the online one might have a different SKU or something.

cymruchris said:If you have opened it already, and can't return it as new - try this - assuming you have the available funds. Order one direct from the website, and when it arrives, take that new sealed unit along with your original store sales receipt back to the store for a refund.0
